✅ Eligibility
NEET PG 2026 Eligibility
To appear for NEET PG 2026, candidates must hold an MBBS degree with internship completed (or due to complete) by the prescribed cut-off date, and valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
Core Eligibility Criteria
| Educational Qualification | MBBS degree recognised by NMC |
| Internship Deadline | Completed by July 31, 2026 expected |
| Registration | Valid permanent/provisional NMC or State Medical Council registration |
| Upper Age Limit | No upper age limit |
| Citizenship | Indian citizens, OCI cardholders eligible |
Internship Completion — Important Nuance
Candidates whose internship is ongoing at the time of application can still apply provisionally, provided they complete it by the cut-off date specified in the official notification (typically July 31 of the exam year). Final admission/joining, however, requires proof of completed internship — not just at the time of the exam, but at the time of counselling/joining.
Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs)
Indian citizens who completed their MBBS-equivalent degree from a foreign medical institution must first clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) and obtain provisional/permanent registration before being eligible to appear for NEET PG.
OCI Candidates & Other Notes
- OCI cardholders are eligible under the criteria specified for the relevant category in the official notification.
- Candidates must have a valid, non-expired medical registration at the time of counselling.
- There is no minimum percentage/marks criterion in MBBS beyond having passed the final examination.
Always verify: Exact eligibility clauses (especially cut-off dates and category-specific rules) are finalised only in the official NEET PG 2026 information bulletin.
